World Alzheimer's Day 2018

Today is World Alzheimer's Day. According to the Alzheimer's Association, "5.7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's Disease and by 2050 this number is projected to rise to 14 million". Early and accurate diagnosis is an extremely important first step to understanding Alzheimer's Disease, learning available options, and helping the patient, their families, and their caregivers improve quality of life.

Dr. Kelsey Oster, a Clinical Neuropsychologist here at Landstrom Center, specializes in lifespan neuropsychological assessment and geriatric neuropsychological assessment. Among her many qualifications is her work conducting research on Parkinson’s Disease at Rush University Medical Center. Continually, Dr. Oster served her residency and fellowship in geriatric neuropsychology.
