UNIQUE APPROACH

Our Unique Approach

At Landstrom Center, we believe that effective care begins with understanding the whole person. Our approach is simple: we evaluate first so recommendations are clear, targeted, and meaningful.

“Test first so there are no questions later”! Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations help us look beyond surface-level symptoms and better understand the factors contributing to a patient’s concerns. Rather than relying on a single symptom, score, or diagnosis, we use a personalized assessment process to identify patterns across thinking, learning, attention, memory, mood, behavior, development, and daily functioning.

This process allows us to better understand not only what is difficult, but also what is working well. Each evaluation is designed to identify a patient’s strengths, clarify areas of need, and provide practical recommendations that can guide treatment, school supports, workplace accommodations, therapy, coaching, or other next steps.

Diagnostic clarity is an important part of our work. By using evidence-based tools, clinical interviews, record review, behavioral observations, and standardized testing, we create an individualized roadmap for each patient.

Our goal is for patients and families to leave the evaluation process with more than a diagnosis. We want them to leave with answers, direction, and a clearer understanding of what to do next.

Why Choose Our Assessment Approach?

We look beyond symptoms.
Symptoms can have many possible causes. We take time to understand the full picture, including emotional, cognitive, academic, developmental, medical, behavioral, and environmental factors that may be contributing to the concern.

We use evidence-based tools.
Our evaluations include standardized measures, clinical interviews, record review, observations, and individualized testing batteries to support accurate diagnosis and meaningful recommendations.

We identify strengths, not just challenges.
Understanding what a patient does well is just as important as understanding what is difficult. Strengths help guide treatment planning, accommodations, and practical strategies.

We focus on practical next steps.
Our goal is not simply to provide a diagnosis. We provide recommendations that patients, families, schools, providers, and workplaces can actually use.

We tailor each evaluation to the patient.
Every patient is different. Testing is selected based on the referral question, history, current concerns, and the type of information needed to guide care.

We evaluate across the lifespan.
Landstrom Center provides evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults, with recommendations designed to fit the patient’s stage of life and real-world needs.
