Landstrom Center is committed to training the next-generation of psychologists to the highest standard!
Training Description: Our training program provides a guided, clinical experience in which externs are given the opportunity to function in various roles associated with professional psychology and neuropsychology. The two major roles emphasized are those of psychotherapist and psychodiagnostician. The development and/or refinement of specific skills and competencies associated with these two major clinical roles form the basis for our program’s training program.
- Diagnostic/assessment Practicum
- Therapy Practicum
- Advanced Practicum
- Neuropsychology Practicum
Availability: Training is offered in a 24 hours per week program format. Students are expected to be on site on 3 days. Friday is mandatory for didactics, seminars and group supervision. In collaboration with their supervisor, students will be assigned their remaining 2 on-site days of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Students are required to attend mandatory orientation sessions during the month of July. Orientation dates are TBD for 2022-2023 students.
Qualifications: While Landstrom Center understands academic performance represents only a portion of an extern's capabilities, applicants with a current GPA of 3.5 or higher are strongly preferred. Applicants must have received satisfactory (B or higher) in Cognitive/Intellectual Assessment course to support adequate understanding of WISC and WAIS administration. Applicants must have familiarity with additional psychological assessments (e.g., personality & academic measures). Applicants applying for this position should be interested in working with both child/adolescent and adult populations.
Landstrom Center is dedicated to providing the best services and treatments to our patients. Our unique approach fully utilizes comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to provide individualized care. We value professionals and team members who share our commitment and enthusiasm to this approach and a commitment to the goals it includes.
